Mr Eelko Smit is an experienced and dedicated civil-law notary with more than 25 years of expertise in corporate law. He advises national and international enterprises, healthcare institutions and majority shareholders on complex legal issues and strategic decisions.

Passion for the profession
Alongside his practice, Eelko is actively involved in the development of the notarial profession. For example, until the end of 2025 he was chair of the Legal Entities Specialist Group of Netwerk Notarissen and a member of the The Hague Supervisory Committee for six years. He has also held various board positions, including chair of the The Hague Association of Civil-law Notaries. As a lecturer and examiner at the Foundation for Professional Training for Civil-law Notaries and the Royal Notarial
